I came across this mural by local, Guatemalan-born Houston artist W3R3ON3, AKA Gelson D. Lemus the other day and the depiction of the world with a key in it struck me as a great image for our role as interpreters, translators and language teachers: effectively giving others a key to the world around them, removing barriers to communication and opening the door to new experiences.
